TUSCALOOSA -- Bulldog hopes of avoiding an early start to their tournament season vanished Saturday, with a pair of balls banished from Alabama's yard in a 2-1 decision.

Solo home runs in the first and fifth innings gave Alabama all the offense they needed to salvage a split on the final weekend of SEC season.
