"I committed to Mississippi State today and it was a great feeling," said Holcombe. "I know when I committed that everybody in that room was excited, my family, Coach Mullen, Coach Collins and of course I was extremely excited.

"It feels so good to have my decision made and I just feel at home here.

"Mississippi State has everything that I was looking for.

"I know coming here that I will have a great future after football."

Holcombe reports that he felt like a priority to the Mississippi State staff and that proved to be a real factor in his decision.

"You know I was real happy when they offered me last month," said Holcombe. "When I came to the camp last time, I just had a good feeling about Mississippi State and about the coaches.

"I like the atmosphere here and I am excited about everything."

Holcombe was one of the standouts in one-on-ones, intercepting a big pass early in drills that send his fellow linebackers into a frenzy.

The chance to put in some work on the playing surface of his future football home appears to have been a great experience for the rising senior.

"Everything about today has been great," said Holcombe. "Being able to come out here and compete on this field has been a lot of fun.

"It's just been a great day for me and I am excited.

"All I can say about everything is that it's all been great.

"Everything about today has been great and I couldn't be happier about everything.

"It was great to compete with a bunch of other Bulldogs.

"I had a blast."

Holcombe chose the Bulldogs over offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, North Carolina State and Vanderbilt among others.
