State Knocks Out Samford Early In 8-2 Win

As soon as Adam Frazier made the first Mississippi State contact, it was clear this Mississippi State meeting with Samford would turn out much differently than the last. Much better, too, as the host Bulldogs knocked the Birmingham bunch around for an 8-2 victory.

Saturday's win kept Mississippi State (7-0) perfect on the early season, and was the second success of the Diamond Classic. The Bulldogs had beaten Purdue 3-2 on Friday, and the two were squaring off Saturday evening at 6:30. Samford was 4-3 after losses to both the Boilermakers (9-4 Friday) and Bulldogs.
