Cox Talks Southern Miss Visit
James Cox decided to open up his recruitment when the Eagles made a coaching change. The Eagles have still been reaching out to him, and this past weekend he took a visit to Southern Miss. He detailed the weekend with GoldenEaglePride.com. "We had a ball man," he said. "I got down there and got to meet Coach Monken and have dinner with him. "He's a great guy, me and Tere really liked him a lot. I got to hang out with a couple of players and enjoyed playing games and chilling with them." James said Coach Monken was everything as advertised. "He's just a real up tempo guy," he said. "He's a real players coach, and he had us ready to play I'll tell you that. He's going to turn things around and I liked that a lot." He said he enjoyed everything when it came to looking at what the school had to offer. "I enjoyed looking at all the academic stuff," he said. "I looked at the business school and loved that. We toured the facilities and that was a lot of fun as well." Cox said the Eagles are right at the top of his list, but he's not ready to make a decision just yet. "Right now Southern Miss is my leader, but I'm not really making a decision right now," he said. "I'm going to talk it over with my parents and I'm getting closer to it. I will decided soon, way before signing day." James said he enjoyed meeting a guy he got to be close with over the last few weeks, Tere Calloway. "I had to show him what the south is all about and school him in a few games," he said, laughing. We'll continue to update with James and the rest of the visits this weekend.
