Mississippi State Men's Basketball Signs Five

Mississippi State men's basketball has signed five student/athletes to a national letter of intent, including two Mississippians, one from Alabama and two from Texas.

Leading the group of signees is Starkville (MS) High School 6-8, 230-pound center Gavin Ware, a four-star recruit who was rated the 22nd best center and 94th best player in the nation according to Scout.com. Gavin chose Mississippi State over scholarship offers from Alabama and Georgetown.

Carver (AL) Senior High School 6-3, 170-pound three-star two-guard Craig Sword is an outstanding player who chose Mississippi State over offers from Alabama, Auburn and Georgia. He is a former teammate of current Mississippi State freshman Roquez Johnson.

Underrated 6-1, 174-pound guard Josh Gray, who plays for Christian Life Center Academy in Humble, Texas, is a cat quick guard who chose Mississippi State over offers from Oregon, Baylor, Georgetown, and Seton Hall.

Gray's teammate, 5-10, 170-pound point guard P.J. Hardwick, Jr., also signed with Mississippi State. He chose the Bulldogs over offers from Texas A&M and South Florida. He is a jet quick guard who does a great job of handling the ball under pressure.

Another underrated player who signed with the Bulldogs is Jim Hill (MS) High School 6-5, 190-pound two-guard/small forward Fred Thomas.
