2008 As a junior DeShawn ran for 1,586 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Named 1st team All-Area by the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal

2007 As a sophomore McGaughy rushed for over 1,700 yards and 24 touchdowns.

He has the ability to play corner, but his frame and low center of gravity will probably result in him playing running back on the college level.

Won the state power-lifting championship in his weight class. Benches 315 and squats 555.
