Played in 11 of a possible 13 games during his true freshman season at MSU, starting once...Missed two games due to injury.

Rated as the No. 53 defensive tackle prospect in the country by recruiting web site Scout.com...Ranked among the top 75 defensive linemen in the Southeast by PrepStar Recruiting magazine in its season-ending yearbook...Credited with running a 4.9 40-yard dash by that publication...Considered the No. 26 prospect, regardless of position, in the state of Louisiana by SuperPrep Magazine in its pre-season edition...Moved up four spots from that publication's pre-season ranking following his senior season...Earned all-state recognition after his junior and senior campaigns...Registered 62 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, five of which were quarterback sacks during his senior season at Bastrop (LA) HS...Made 76 total tackles, with 10 tackles for loss, six of which were quarterback sacks, during that junior campaign...Also forced three fumbles...Other top scholarship offers: Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, and Colorado.
