Played in all but one game (12 of 13) during his sophomore season for MSU, starting seven times...Made 44 tackles on the season, four for loss (minus 7 yards)...Intercepted one pass (12-yard return) with four pass deflections...Earned a first-unit berth at cornerback with a steady spring practice and held it during August two-a-days.
2006
Played in all 12 games of his true freshman season at Mississippi State...Made six tackles on the year and was credited with a pair of fumble recoveries (9 yards in returns) and one touchdown...Despite limited playing time, he tied for seventh in the Southeastern Conference in fumble recoveries.
High School
Rated with the top 50 defensive backs in the Midlands by Prep Star Magazine in its season-ending issue, calling him one of the top 20 defensive backs in the state of Texas...Made 25 tackles with one pass interception during his senior season for Thurgood Marshall (TX) HS...Also credited with 10 pass deflections...Solid basketball player and track athlete at the prep level...Ran a 37.5 in the 300 meter hurdles, a 14.1 in the 110 meter hurdles, and ran a leg of the school's nationally ranked 4x400 meter relay team...He was district champion in the 110 hurdles and second in the district in the 300 meters as a junior...Other top scholarship offers: Northwestern and Air Force.
