Played at Troup County (GA) HS...Rushed for 1,232 yards and scored 18 touchdowns during his senior season...Was named honorable mention all-state at fullback following his final prep season by the Atlanta Journal Constitution...That newspaper also selected him to the top 100 players in the state of Georgia following his senior campaign...Selected to play in the Georgia North-South high school all-star game...As a junior, he made 108 tackles and was an all-area performer at linebacker...Also worked as a fullback during the second half of his junior campaign, gaining more than 500 yards on just 73 carries with eight touchdowns.
