Named first-team, Class 5A all-state at quarterback by both the Florida Football Writers Association and the Florida Varsity.com web site...Selected to the East vs. West all-star game in Orlando, FL, a game that attracted players from 30 states...Completed four-of-five passes for 116 yards in that game...Rated the No. 85 prospect in the state of Florida, regardless of position, by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel...He was the fifth-highest rated quarterback in the state on that publication's listing...Credited with running a 4.5-second, 40-yard dash by recruiting web site Scout.com...Threw for 3,767 career yards with 57 passing touchdowns and only 15 interceptions...Also rushed for 27 TDs...Broke the St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) HS record for career passing yards and touchdowns...Completed 99-of-182 passes (.544), for 1,509 yards and 24 touchdowns during that senior season...Completed 90-of-160 passes for more than 1,700 yards and a single-season, school-record 29 touchdowns, with just three interceptions, during his junior season...Named to the Miami Herald All-Broward County first-team following that junior campaign...As a freshman, he was the back-up quarterback on a prep team that won a North Carolina state title...Other top scholarship offers: North Carolina State, Duke and Central Florida.
