Tabbed by Collegiate Baseball newspaper for Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honors as the starting center fielder for Big South Conference champion Birmingham-Southern Panthers...Compiled a team-best .363 BA, seventh-highest BA in the BSC, and paced the league with 82 hits...Led his team and ranked second in the Big South Conference (42nd in NCAA) with 27 stolen bases in 29 attempts...Saw playing time in all 55 BSC games, 54 as a starter...Speedy lead-off hitter who led the Panthers with 56 runs scored, 28 multiple-hit games and a season-closing, team-longest 16-game hitting streak...Also registered four multi-stolen base games...Transferred to MSU following the 2006 season after BSC announced plans to leave NCAA Divison I.
HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year letterman and three-year starter at Covington HS...Hit .417 and pilfered 36 bases in 37 attempts en route to all-state honors as a senior in 2005...Three-time all-district selection and two-time all-conference pick at CHS...Also a four-year letterman in football at CHS, twice earning all-region honors and notching honorable mention all-state plaudits...Served as team captain his senior season.
