Two-time, first-team all-state performer for Class 5A Poplar Bluff (MO) HS, as accorded by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association as well as the MO Basketball Coaches Association...Also made first-team all-region and collected all-conference honors three consecutive seasons...Named Mr. Show-Me Basketball and was selected the 2005-06 SEMO Conference Player of the Year (John Gibbs Award) after averaging 24.3 pts, 10.4 reb, 4.9 ast and 3.9 stl per game as a senior...Totaled 1,577 pts (2nd in school history; 14.1 ppg), 585 reb (5.2 rpg) and 493 ast (19th all-time in state history; 4.4 apg) during his four-year high school career, along with shooting 53% from the field overall (hitting 142 career treys) and 75% from the charity stripe...Had his No. 23 retired at the conclusion of his prep career...Shot 52% from the field, 43% from beyond the arc and 78% from the line as a senior...Collected first-team all-state, all-region and all-conference honors as a junior after averaging 17.1 pts, 6.4 ast and 5.2 reb per contest...Averaged 9.2 pts, 4.5 ast and 3.8 reb per outing as a sophomore starter and second-team all-conference performer.
