| Biography: |
Anthony Johnson excelled on both sides of the football as a junior. On offense, Johnson caught 24 passes for 639 yards and ten touchdowns. Defensively, he turned in six interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Johnson also competes on the track team as a high jumper, long jumper, triple jumper and 4x100 sprinter.
Coach's Comments: "Anthony has been blessed because God has given him a lot of athletic ability," said Head Coach Willie Collins. "He's done everything we've asked him to do. Anthony can play on either side of the ball because he has great hands and he's an excellent cover guy. He has exceptional closing speed and he will come up and hit you."
Scouting Report: Anthony Johnson has the tools to excel as a cornerback or wide receiver. He will probably project as a cornerback due to the limited pool of great cover guys available each year. Johnson has the hips for coverage responsibilities and the mentality to bring the lumber, too. He has great hands and elusiveness as a receiver. In short, Johnson is a playmaker on both sides of the football.
