Instead the relief pitcher found himself at the plate in the 12th inning with bases loaded, score tied, and Mississippi State trying to open the weekend successfully. “I wasn’t expecting that at all,” the freshman said, “this is definitely a big surprise. But I’m glad it happened this way.”
