Mississippi State made history five years ago when it named Green Bay Packers' assistant coach Sylvester Croom as it's head coach. Croom was the SEC's first ever African-American head football coach.

The Sylvester Croom era has now reportedly come to an less than 24 hours after the 2008 football season came to an end.

The news began to circulate earlier this morning as coaches and staffers were called to an upstairs meeting in the Bryan Building to discuss the immediate future and direction of the Bulldog football program.

Details are not immediately known, but a press conference is expected later today.
