C.J. Johnson had the last laugh in the rivalry with Neshoba Central. After a week of pranks and hijinks, it was C.J. and Philadelphia doing the celebrating over in Neshoba Central.
Johnson was involved in 20 plus tackles and had a 25 yard interception return for a touchdown as Philly (3-0) rolled 42-14.
Darion Arrington and Stone (1-2) got their first win this week after two close losses in the previous two weeks.
Arrington's win comes at the expense of Nick Redmond and Harrison Central (0-2).
Dee ran for a pair of short touchdowns (6,7 yards) in the win.
Dak Prescott ran for 92 yards and a score on 20 carries while he threw for 208 more and a pair of touchdowns as Haughton (1-0) got by Airline 24-7.
Devin Fosselman had another big night as he and James Maiden got their first win of the young season tonight with a 49-7 cakewalk over Raymond. Wilkinson County is now 1-1 and will travel to Prentiss next week.
Rufus Warren and Gentry (1-2) recorded their first win of the season with an 8-0 shutout of Ruleville Central.
Jermaine Whitehead ran for an 81 yard touchdown as Amanda Elzey knocked off John F Kennedy to even their record at 1-1.
Devonte Scott and Ferriday (0-1) were held out of the end zone by a rapidly improving Natchez team 14-0.
Daniel Knox will return to practice this week and his services are certainly needed in the Knights' lineup. West Lauderdale fell to 0-3 after a 38-0 blowout loss to Gulfport.
Joe Morrow was held scoreless tonight as Moss Point doubled up Ocean Springs (2-1) 28-14.
Josh Robinson will lead his Franklinton team across the state line tomorrow night to take on Abilene, Texas at 7 PM.
Earlier this week Darius Slay saw very little action on his side of the field against Hinds. The Eagles won big 56-31, but Slay, a pre-season All-American, held down his side of the field.
