It's playoff time in most areas of the country now. Many of the MSU commitments are still fighting for a chance at a state title, while others are already preparing for other sports. Next week features some incredible match-ups.

Michael Carr scored a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air, as West Point (10-1) blasted Hernando 37-7.

Curtis Virges led a strong defensive effort where he hurried the Tiger quarterbacks all night.

The Green Wave will host another set of Tigers next week when Canton High comes to town for first round playoff action.

Jameon Lewis and Tylertown (11-0) continue their quest for perfection. The defending 3A south champs knocked off McLaurin 35-0 in a cakewalk.

Jameon scored on runs of 55 and 1 yard.

The Chiefs will play at Seminary next week in the 2nd round.

Jamerson Love and Aberdeen (8-2) kept on rolling with a 40-13 win over Independence. The Bulldogs play at Ripley next week in the 2nd round.

Cordell Giles' Ray Brooks team (5-5) ended their season on a down note due to a 33-8 loss to Durant.

Yazoo County and Kaleb Eulls did just enough to get into the playoffs, but their post season run was short lived.

Senatobia rolled 49-16.

Antwon Chisholm was held out of the endzone, but Glades Central got by Suncoast 27-8.

With the win Glades (9-0) wins the outright District 7-2A title.

The annual Muck Bowl against Pahokee is on tap next week.

Rajion Neal was held to 83 yards, but the talented running back found the end zone three times to lead sandy Creek to a 21-9 win over Banneker.

With the win, the #3 rated Patriots clinch the regional title.

Vick Ballard and Kelvin Bolden will lead #3 ranked Gulf Coast to Scooba later today in hopes of winning their third straight MACJC Title.

Ballard has rushed for 1,469 yards and 18 touchdowns while Bolden has rolled up 921 receiving yards and 13 scores.

In order for Gulf Coast to have a chance to earn a share of the national title, they need some help.

#1 Navarro (TX) and #2 Fort Scott (KS) are both 9-0 and hosting playoff games this weekend. Perk needs to see some upsets to boost their chances.

The winner of today's EMCC/Gulf Coast game will play in the Mississippi Bowl December 6th in Biloxi.
