    Notes from the park:

  • There were between 125 and 150 people watching the scrimmage.
  • At least one Major League Baseball scout was in attendance.
  • Corey Collins is known as a sinkerball pitcher and he lived up to that reputation during Saturday's scrimmage with all but one of his outs either being a strikeout or a ground ball out.
  • Caleb Reed, however, one-upped him. All of Caleb's outs were either strikeouts or ground ball outs.
  • Chad Girodo was Mr. Efficiency. In his three innings of work, he only threw 30 pitches, 18 for strikes.
  • The State coaching staff, due to it being a tie game, put runners on 2nd in the 6th inning and on 3rd in the 7th inning to start off both innings. I didn't include the phantom runners and what happened to them in my stats. I also left off two intentional walks by Corey Collins in the 7th inning due to the phantom runner.
