Malcolm Johnson was the hero Friday night as Northridge (3-1) upset Minor 26-24.

Johnson found the end zone three time as he hauled in scoring strikes from 13,14 and 37 yards which proved to be the game winner.

Curtis Virges enjoyed a win and Michael Carr converted a two point conversion as West Point (2-1) drilled Starkville 33-13.

Jameon Lewis took just about all of the second half off as top ranked Tylertown rolled into 6A Vicksburg and blasted the Gators 42-7.

The 3A Chiefs are now 4-0 with wins over 5A McComb, 6A Ocean Springs, 4A Lawrence County and 6A Vicksburg.

Kaleb Eulls had nearly 100 yards rushing, but it was not enough as Yazoo City knocks off Yazoo County (1-3) 22-16 in the annual rivalry game.

Brandon Hill and West Lowndes (3-1) tasted defeat for the first time this season at the hands of Philadelphia. The 48-16 lopsided affair was over rather quickly.

The Ray Brooks score against Montgomery was not available at press time. Cordell Giles and his teammates were looking for win number win on the season.

Rajion Neal and Sandy Creek (2-1) won over Alexander 41-0.

Blaine Clausell and Baker have found their first win rather elusive. Theodore hammered BHS (0-3) 41-14 on Friday.

Earlier this week, Rashod Henry ran for 94 yards on 17 carries as PRCC outlasted NWCC 38-35 at Senatobia. The Wildcats appear to be the team to beat in the South.

Other scores of note:

Defending state champ Meridian rolls on to 4-0 after a good win over a very good Quitman team.

Matthew Wells scored on runs of 17 and 40 yards, but Brookhaven knocked off Lawrence County 27-20. The Cougars are one play away from being a surprising 0-4 on the season.

Nick Griffin added a pair of touchdown runs as Perry Central hammered Richton 59-6.

Finally, in the annual Possum Bowl:

Loyd Star 46 - Bogue Chitto 13.
