After finding out about a month ago that he wouldn't be able to attend Minnesota due to academics, Tim McGee has found a new home.
"I've committed to Memphis," said the happy youngster. "They are sending the papers for me to sign."
He explained why he decided on Memphis.
"It came down to Memphis and Troy, but I just felt more at home at Memphis because I have a few former teammates there," said the 6-4, 300-pounder. "And I thought the town was nice."
Tim also had offers from numerous Conference-USA, WAC and Sunbelt schools as well as strong interest from schools such as Louisville, Kansas State and South Florida.
As for the holdup with Minnesota that was caused by academics, Tim told me that he "made a B in the class" that caused the problem.
Now Tim can head to Memphis and prepare for the upcoming football season.
