First, Ron Polk informed Grant Hogue he’d made a “bonehead” choice coming on to third after his successful steal of second. Then, Mississippi State’s skipper had more immediate advice for the winning base runner. “It’s like Coach Polk knows everything that’s about to happen,” Hogue said. “He said be careful watch for the wild pitch right here. Sure enough, there it was.”
