Mississippi State - Troy State football game notes.

MSU's six pass interceptions tied the school record for the most ever, matching the Bulldogs' six pickoffs vs. Arkansas in 1939.
With his three interceptions in the game, freshman

Freshman Darren Williams had 44 return yards after the 3 interceptions. Williams also had 3 tackles and 3 pass deflections to go along with his 3 interceptions.
TE
Donald Lee

and TE
Aaron Lumpkin
made their first career starts in the game.
Troy State's six interceptions thrown in the game was a TSU school record.
Mario Haggan
led all players, TSU and MSU, with 10 tackles (6 solos). Freshman cornerback Kevin Dockery, in his first career start, had 7 tackles (3 solos) while junior defensive end
Kamau Jackson
had 8 (2 solos).
The MSU defense recorded 5 of its 6 interceptions in the 2nd half. TSU had 7 drives in the second half. One ended in a punt, one a touchdown on a 3-play, 12 yard drive after a fumble and the other five ended in interceptions.
Robert Wallis
, starting in place of regular punter
Jared Cook
, punted the ball 6 times for a 46.5 average.
MSU took advantage of the 6 interceptions to the tune of just 3 points. TSU did a little better, scoring a touchdown on a 3 play, 12-yard drive.
MSU dominated the battle of the clock in the second half with a time of possession of 21:24 compared to 8:36 for TSU.
After recording 2 penalties against South Carolina, MSU recorded 6 against TSU.

The 111 yards by
