This coming Saturday, July 7, NEMCC will hold it's annual 7-on-7 passing tournament for local high school teams. The tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Keenum Stadium on the Northeast campus and the adjacent practice field. There is room in the tournament field for more teams to enter. Cost to participate is $250 per team.
Three days later the football practice facilities at NEMCC will be buzzing again as David Wilkerson's Northeast Quarterback Camp takes place on July 10-11 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. each day. Wilkerson is NEMCC's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Former Mississippi State University quarterbacks Matt Wyatt, and Rob Morgan will participate as instructors among others.
"It's going to be a fun week," said Wilkerson. "The high school coaches really like the 7-on-7 tournament because the players get great conditioning work, while having fun at the same time. They also like the competition it provides. Our quarterback camp is great for one-on-one instruction with guys that know the position, and the right way to do things."
