INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Competing against the best in the nation at the 2007 AT&T USA Track and Field Championships, Mississppi State junior Golden Coachman turned in a time of one minute, 47.18 seconds in the finals of the 800-meter run on Sunday to place seventh in the national event.

Coachman, a Birmingham, Ala.-native, broke MSU's 800-meter school record en route to the championship round of the USA Track and Field Championships. On Friday he clocked a time of 1:46.79 to advance to Sunday's finale. It marked the second time this season that Coachman established a new benchmark in the two-lap event. He previously set the mark of 1:47.40 at the 2007 Southeastern Conference Championships. He gained all-American status with a fourth-place finish at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor National Championships.

Khadevis Robinson won the event with a time of 1: 44.37. The top three in each event move on the World Championships in Osaka, Japan in August.
