The lastest sports news from the MSU Media Relations Department...Track & Field.

Track & Field
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Mississippi State track and field athletes Golden Coachman and Bruce Davis earned an advancement time in their respective events on the opening day of the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif.

Coachman clocked a time of one minute, 49.59 in the 800-meter run to move on to the semifinal round of competition on Thursday. The top three from each of the four events and the next best four times advanced out of Wednesday’s opening round event. B. Davis posted one of the top 16 times in the 400-meter dash preliminary round. He finished third in his heat with a time of 46.88 seconds. The semifinals of the event will take place on Friday, June 8.
