Terry High School offensive lineman Taylor Quick camped at Mississippi State this past weekend. Quick had the chance to have his technique critiqued by the MSU coaching staff. The talented Quick came away impressed with the experience.

Quick spent last season bulldozing holes for Anthony Dixon to run through. This season Quick will take the field as a senior and do his best to keep defenders off of Bulldog quarterback Charlie Shearer.

Taylor put in some time sharpening the saw this past weekend on the campus of Mississippi State University.

"I was really impressed with the attitudes of the coaches. At some camps they don't make it real personal, but the MSU camp is definitely about making you better as a player," said Quick.

Quick got to spend some one-on-one time with offensive line coach J.B. Grimes.

"Coach Grimes has a lot of energy. He has a lot of passion for the offensive line. He makes you feel real important," said Taylor. "He gave us a pep talk and told us we were the heart and soul of our team. I really liked that."

Some of the most highly sought after offensive line recruits in the Magnolia State were in attendance. Quick says working with players of that caliber was an added bonus.

"To be there with Colton (Jenkins), Q (Quentin Saulsberry), Addison (Lawrence) and (Derek) Sherrod was great. It was nice to get to compare myself with them. I learned some things by watching their technique," reported Quick.

One of the highlights of the camp for those battling it out in the trenches was immediate feedback. Quick says after each session the campers were able to see video replays of their performance.

"The video was awesome. It helped me so much. I wish we could do that everyday in our practices. It's good to see what you did wrong and be able to work on it right then," said Taylor. "Coach Grimes really wants to see all of us get better. He had a lot of good feedback."

Quick is receiving attention from several schools, but to date has not received an offer from a division one school. Taylor claims an offer from Gulf coast community college, but expects more schools to offer as the season rolls along.

Taylor projects as a full qualifier.
