"I committed to Mississippi State," said the 6-4, 270-pounder. "I fell in love with Mississippi State when I went to the Mississippi State and Georgia game last year when I went with (MSU signee) Ryan Mason. Me and him were roommates. I'm going to be a Mississippi State Bulldog instead of a Georgia Bulldog and beat up on Georgia and everybody else."

He chose Mississippi State over two other Southeastern Conference schools.

"I have three offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Auburn," he said. "Southern Miss was also showing interest in me."

Jonathan, an All-State selection as a senior, was also highly-thought of as a senior in high school.

"Out of high school, I was recruited by Auburn, Alabama, Wake Forest, Boston College and I even got an offer from Columbia," he noted. "I received offers from Auburn and Alabama. They were all waiting on my test score. I was an Auburn placement. I had graduated in 2004 and I was placed at Independence Community College by Auburn's Coach Knox."

With his commitment, Mississippi State now has three commitments. The others are Tim Holloway and Archie Sims, both of whom play for Jones County Junior College.
