MDCC Class of 2007 Prospects

Mississippi Delta Community College has at least four players who have a chance to be D-I prospects next season.

  • Romelle Matthews (OL, 6-3, 305, 4.9) -Romelle (pictured) is an offensive lineman who was heavily recruited by Georgia, Auburn and Ole Miss out of high school. He is interested in seven schools, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. His brother is Mississippi Delta CC assistant coach Rod Gibson. Romelle is originally from Lithonia (GA) High School.

  • Jonathan Williams (DE, 6-4, 269, 4.8) - Jonathan is a defensive end who was an Alabama lean out of high school. He is currently interested in hearing from Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Boston College, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Jonathan played for Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, GA.

  • Jacarious Lucas (WR, 6-3, 192, 4.5) - Jacarious, the cousin of NFL star Ken Lucas, is a former Delta Democrat Offensive Player of the year. After playing cornerback as a freshman at MDCC, he expects to play wide receiver this coming season. He hopes to hear from colleges such as Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida, Memphis, LSU and Miami. He is from Cleveland (MS) East Side High School.

  • Mitchell Dean (OLB, 6-2, 225, 4.7) - This hard-hitting junior college All-State selection hopes to hear from the likes of UAB, Troy, Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State. He is from Smiths, Alabama.
