ATLANTA - The story behind one of Mississippi State’s student-athlete’s personal bouts with Hurricane Katrina will be featured on SEC-TV this Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m., the network announced Tuesday afternoon.

SEC-TV, hosted by Dave Neal, is a live, weekly, half-hour Southeastern Conference studio program originating from FSN South's Atlanta headquarters. The show reaches 11 million homes throughout Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, on the nation's largest regional sports television network. In the states of Arkansas and Louisiana, SEC-TV airs live on FSN Southwest, and throughout the state of Florida, SEC-TV airs live on Sun Sports.

Meyers has dealt with adversity and survived whenever life has thrown her a curveball, and on Thursday's SEC-TV, reporter Jenn Hildreth learns firsthand how this Bulldog athlete handles life's difficult experiences. Meyers was first faced with switching from midfielder to goalkeeper when, in the spring of 2003, her roommate and starting goalkeeper, Courtney Hubert, passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident.

Following this tragedy and her position change, Meyers channeled her energy into becoming the Bulldogs' top netminder (19 starts, 135 saves this year). Another rigorous challenge Meyers stared down came just after the fall semester began, when her family's home in Bay St. Louis was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Hildreth sits down with Meyers and her parents and discovers how this close-knit family rallied the troops to survive nature's devastating blow.
