After traveling by chartered bus most of the day Thursday, the team will join the other teams at a Thursday night banquet hosted by the city of McAlester.
Other teams that will be participating in the June 10th through 15th tournament include Califonia, Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma (two teams), Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and Canada.
Games begin Friday afternoon. First up for the Mississippi Stars is Arizona at 2 p.m. on Hartshorne Park and then the Oklahoma Gold team in the featured game at 7:45 on McAlester Field. On Saturday, the Stars will take on Texas at 11 a.m. on Hartshorne Field and then face California at 5 p.m. on McAlester Park. On Sunday, the Stars will face the Oklahoma Blue at 5 p.m. at Hartshorne Field. Monday, the Stars will face Tennessee at 9 a.m. and Canada at 2 p.m., both on McAlester Field. On Tuesday, the Stars face Georgia at 9 a.m. on McAlester Field and then take on Missouri at 7:45 on Hartshorne Field. The Metal Rounds will be played on Wednesday and all games are determined by each team's won-loss records. The Championship game will be held Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. on McAlester Field.
The Mississippi Stars placed 4th in 2004 and lost to Tennessee in the Championship in 2003.
