Adam Carlson Profile:
High School: Gulfport HS
MSU Player Host: Jared Cook
Visits: Mississippi State.
Offers: Mississippi State.
Was there any one thing that sold you on Mississippi State?
"I want to do engineering and that is a big engineering school. And I've always wanted to go there."
When do you expect to report to Mississippi State, the summer or the fall?
"The special teams coach (Coach Amos Jones) told me that they will decide after going through spring training. If he needs me to come early, he will let me know and I'll come up the second half of the summer."
Are you participating in any other sports other than football?
"Baseball and soccer."
What do you think will be the biggest adjustment between junior college and SEC ball?
"Probably the speed of the game, the coaching involved and how everything is structured. Kicking-wise, it is (kicking) off of the ground instead of on a tee, but I've gotten accustomed to that."
Was there any one humorous or unusual thing that happened during your recruitment?
"There was nothing unusual or funny but there were some cool things. The neatest part was when I walked in the (Mississippi State) locker room and a jersey was hanging with my name on it. That was the coolest part of the weekend."
What are your hobbies?
"Sports is my main hobby but I just started taking guitar. I had to stop when football started but I would love to take that back up."
Who has been the most influential person in your life? If more than one, you can mention them all.
"My mother. Also, my kicking coach and my soccer coach, Coach McNeil, has helped push me. He kind of got me to (Mississippi) State. He got them looking at me. He's helped me out a lot over the years."
What are your plans for signing day?
"We are having a meeting at 9 o'clock in the library. I'll probably sign the letter and send it off after that."
Has the internet been a source of information for you during your recruitment?
" I guess it did help me get a lot of information about the school (Mississippi State) and what was going on with it."
