Champion was ready

Mississippi State was the leader and it was thought that Tommy Champion would commit over the summer, but he felt ready earlier this week...

"I have always liked Mississippi State," said Tommy Champion. "I was planning to commit this summer, but I committed this week."

The 6-foot-5, 300 pound offensive tackle out of Callaway, Miss. spoke to head coach Dan Mullen and recruiting coach Greg Knox about his decision and they were "excited" according to Champion.

Champion had offers from Memphis,Ole Miss, and a few others when he committed to the Bulldogs and it was an easy decision for the 3-Star.

"Mississippi State is where I really wanted to go. I was there for their spring game and I liked it a lot. I like the coaches there and I committed so I did not have to worry about recruiting and I could focus on academics."

Mississippi State now has 13 commitments for 2015. Recommended Stories
