Rea, Dogs Take Gov Cup Beating Rebels 8-3

PEARL -- Wes Rea credited a whole-club decision to begin playing Bulldog baseball with winning the Missouri series. Tuesday evening the Bulldog co-captain deserved credit of his own after coming up with the game-breaking hit against Ole Miss.

Rea's two-out double in the bottom of the sixth inning snapped a 3-3 tie with a pair of RBI, and sent Mississippi State on to a 8-3 victory in the annual Governors Cup game. The Bulldogs (27-15) won their second-straight Cup contest, and did so again in front of a Trustmark Park record crowd of 8,496. Ole Miss left Pearl 30-12.
