MSU Defeats Mount St. Mary's 10-1

Mississippi State had their hot bats going on a very cold day, scoring ten runs on twelve hits, to defeat Mount St. Mary's 10-1. MSU swept the two-game mid-week series from the Mountaineers.

Mount St. Mary's scored first with an unearned run off of MSU starting pitcher Preston Brown in the second inning. MSM scored when a throw from third baseman Alex Detz was misplayed by Brett Pirtle at second base, allowing the runner from second to cross the plate.
