James Carpenter is the lone Alabama representative to be a participant in Super Bowl XLVIII held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Sunday, February 2, 2014. The shy and reserved mountainous left guard for the Seattle Seahawks, sporting long dreadlocks and a beaming smile that lights up a room, was front and center Tuesday for Super Bowl Media Day at the Prudential Center in Newark.

An NFL first round selection, 25th overall in 2011, the third year veteran has started 26 out of 32 career games. James Carpenter, 6-5, 321 pounds, was a 2010 All-SEC performer and started 27 consecutive games at left tackle for the Tide after transferring from Coffeyville Community College (KS).
