"That will be his final trip and he will decide between Mississippi State and Florida Atlantic," said Steve Davis, Plantation's coach.
Pierce,6-foot-4, 210-pounds, was previously committed to Arkansas. A big reason why he picked the Hogs was his relationship with then Razorback assistant Charlie Partridge. He's now the head coach at Florida Atlantic.
"It was a mutual thing and they [Arkansas] just parted ways," Davis said. "Once Charlie left it opened things back up."
Davis said that Pierce and teammate [cornerback] Chris Lammons are both scheduled to make their decision on signing day from the school at 1 p.m.
Pierce is the state's top tight end prospect and the No. 8 ranked tight end in the nation.
