Alwal enters Saturday the team leader with 15.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per contest. Mississippi State’s career blocks leader, Alwal has rejected 24 shots this season for an SEC-best 2.7 average.
Fellow junior Kendra Grant scored 12 points in the win against the Ragin’ Cajuns to raise her season tally to 13.4 points per game. The Richland, Miss., native has reached double figures in seven of nine games and nine of 12 contests going back to last season.
The pair was joined in double digits by freshman Dominique Dillingham who had a personal-best 19 points to lead all scorers. Dillingham rates third on the squad with 10.0 points per game, and she is pulling down 4.6 rebounds per contest, including a team second-most 27 offensive boards.
