There were three hats on the table - Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss - but only one could be selected. And the one that Jesse Jackson picked up was Maroon and White, the colors of the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
In a hard-fought recruiting battle that not only included offers from his three finalists but also from other colleges such as Alabama, Missouri and Southern Miss, the three-star wide receiver simply couldn't pass up the team that was the first to offer him, Mississippi State.
Jackson is Mississippi State's 18th commitment of the 2014 class and their third in the last five days. They also picked up commitments from Madison-Ridgeland (MS) Academy offensive lineman Sean Rawlings and Tyler (TX) CC defensive end Will Coleman last week.
Jackson is the first wide receiver in State's class. And he is also the 12th Mississippian to choose the Bulldogs.
For the year, Jackson has caught 14 passes for 2 touchdowns and 170 yards. His team is currently 5-1 and ranked 3rd in the state of Mississippi according to MaxPreps.com.
