MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week Four

Several high school programs will soon be playing their first regional opponents, so the final non-district games take on added importance. Some big games from some big names have taken place this season, but this past weekend several of the 2014 MSU commitments suffered a loss in this past week's gridiron action.

Nick Fitzgerald threw for a pair of scores and ran for two more as Richmond Hill destroyed Savannah 51-14 to move to 3-0 on the season.

The Wildcats will enjoy a bye week this week before travelling to Glynn Academy next weekend.

Dontavian Lee rushed for a season best 187 yards in 34-20 win over Magee to run the Aggies record to 2-1 on the young season.

FCAHS will travel to Purvis this weekend to take on Markell Pack and a 3-0 Tornadoes team.

Jordan Harris and Tyler Jones helped pave the way in Stephenson's 62-6 slaughter of Dunwoody High.

The Jaguars (3-0) will look to remain undefeated this week as they host Lakeside High.

Lashard Durr made some big plays on both offense and defense as Harrison Central knocked off Greene County 28-21.

Harrison Central (3-0) will travel to West Jones this week.

Aeris Williams was held to just 46 yards and one score as Columbus shelled West Point 41-14.

Williams now has 473 total yards on the season in just three games.

The Green Wave (1-2) will look to get back on track this week as they travel to Oxford.

Oxford is now 4-0 on the season after blowing out cross county rival Lafayette 30-0.

MSU commitment Darius Liggins had an interception in the game and a hand in double digit tackles.

Jamoral Graham and Newton County had been rolling offensively, but were held to just seven points as Forest pulled an upset and knocked of Newton County 10-7.

Graham had eight tackles on defense, but was limited to under 100 yards all purpose yards offensively.

Newton County will travel to West Lauderdale this week in hopes of getting back on the winning side of things.

Chris Rayford and Byhalia (1-3) suffered their third straight loss as they wound up on the down side of a 42-17 decision.

Slowed by a high ankle sprain, Rayford has moved from corner to safety while he gets back up to full speed.

BHS will host Eupora this week in another attempt to right the ship before district play begins.

Deshon Cooper and Columbia fell to 1-2 on the campaign after an 18-7 set back against Stockbridge.

CHS will host Carver this week.

Elijah Staley threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-28 loss to Langston Hughes.

The turnover bug bit early, but Wheeler fought back to make a game of things.

Wheeler (2-1) will take on Etowah this week.

Gerri Green and Greenville-Weston fell to (1-3) after a 34-6 loss to Greenwood.

Green's chore does not get any easier this week. Weston hosts Murrah and 2015 four star Malik Dear in this week's contest.

Braxton Hoyett and Pelham (2-1) suffered their first loss of the year this past Friday as they fell to Thompson 31-16.

The Panthers will travel to Oak Mountain in this week's action.

Logan Cooke watched his Columbia Academy Cougars pick up a big win over Wayne Academy 28-6.

Cooke is still recovering from a fracture to his shin and will likely be out at least more week.

In junior college action last week, Co-Lin and Jocquell Johnson improved to 3-0 after blanking East Central 23-0.

The Wolfpack will host Hinds and MSU commitment Norman Price this week.

The Eagles of Hinds (2-1)lost to #1 Mississippi Gulf Coast last week 41-34.
