Rick Ray struck two days in a row.
On Tuesday, the Mississippi State coach reeled in 6-foot-9 junior-to-be Joseph Struggs.
Just a day later, Mississippi State picked up a verbal pledge from 2015 prospect Dante Scott.
“I committed to Mississippi State because of the coaches,” Scott said. “I have a very good relationship with them. I wanted to play against the best competition in the country like Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida.”
Scott, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard, said he considered scholarship offers from George Mason, Miami and Clemson. He also had interest from Tennessee, Virginia and Memphis.
Mississippi State offered Scott a scholarship after watching him play at the Bob Gibbons event in April.
“I’ve been talking to him for almost a year now,” Scott said. “We’ve built a great relationships over the past year.”
Scott visited Mississippi State this past weekend. He said that trip helped make his college choice easier.
“I took a visit to Mississippi State this past Saturday,” Scott said. “It was amazing. It was a great visit. Everything went very well.”
Struggs and Scott make up Mississippi State’s current 2015 recruiting class. They currently have one commit in 2014 – Maurice Dunlap.
