Memphis University of School will host the Memphis NFTC and we preview some of the top defensive prospects expected here:
Frazier is the top prospect in Arkansas and a member of the Scout 100. He has an impressive offer list including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Notre Dame, and USC. He likes the SEC and he seems to leaning towards schools in that conference.
Mosley could play interior defensive or offensive line on the next level, but Scout likes him as a nose guard or defensive tackle. Alabama is currently his leader.
Other interior defensive linemen to watch are Arkansas commitment Bijohn Jackson, Cory Thomas out of Alabama, and Davon Godchaux out of Louisiana. Thomas is an emerging DL that picked up an offer from Clemson recently, and Godchaux has around 20 offers and he could play inside or outside on the defensive line.
Breeland Speaks is an intriguing prospect. He played linebacker as a junior at around 255-260 pounds at Callaway in Mississippi and he is not pushing 285 pounds. He could play end in a 3-4 scheme or tackle in the 4-3 scheme. He is one Scout is looking forward to seeing live Sunday.
Ken Edwards could be a sleeper out of Mississippi. He has an offer from Lafayette, but he is on the radar of others like Alabama, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. Edwards is a 6-foot-6, 245 pound defensive end.
Petera Wilson will be in his hometown Sunday and he will be looking to put on a show. The linebacker out of White Station could play inside or outside on the next level and he claims offers from schools such as Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, and Tennessee.
Genard Avery and Alfred Dickens are two linebackers out of Mississippi and Avery is looking for that first offer while Dickens has pulled in offers from Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Avery is an inside backer and Dickens could play outside backer or possibly be a big safety in college.
James Prather could be a defensive end or outside linebacker in college. The 6-foot-4, 235 pound junior out of Memphis University School is searching for offer number one.
LSU commitment Devin Voorhies could workout at wide receiver Sunday, but he is a safety all the way on the next level. The Mississippian committed to the Tigers very early in the process and he is a very good athlete. He has good range and good ball skills.
One of the top prospects in Tennessee right now is 2015 cornerback Rico McGraw. He already has over 20 scholarship offers and he is being pursued by many schools like Alabama, Ohio State, and Tennessee early on. He is over 6-feet tall and he stars for Ensworth, one of the top programs in the state of Tennessee.
One of the hottest prospects in the southeast over the last month plus has been Matrell Magraw out of John Curtis Christian in Louisiana. He has around two dozen scholarship offers and he is an athlete that Scout likes as a safety.
Ole Miss commitment C.J. Hampton is a physical safety and the top 10 Mississippi prospect has plenty of other options. He is a high three-star on Scout.
Illinois recently offered Gualden, a safety out of Tennessee. Eugene has offers from Tulane and Louisiana Tech with many others showing interest. Sheffield is a sophomore that is already committed to Vanderbilt and Moses is a 2017 prospect with offers from Alabama and LSU already.
