Harris Continues to Add Suitors

Grant Harris was one of the first Mississippi 2014 prospects to collect multiple college options. The Clinton Arrow football star has drawn interest from both near and far. It may take some time for Harris to sort it all out, but he reports that he is enjoying the early going of the recruiting process.

Harris currently holds offers from Mississippi State, Southern Miss and West Virginia.

Several schools such as Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Louisiana, Ole Miss and TCU are showing some strong interest in the early going.

"I am excited about everything," said Harris. "I am getting a lot of interest from a lot of schools and I don't really have a favorite right now.

"I am just getting to know everybody right now."

A pair of in state schools have offered. Harris has received invitations from both Mississippi State and Southern Miss to see those programs conduct a spring practice session.

"I was supposed to go see Southern Miss, but I didn't make it down there," said Harris. "I am going to Mississippi State to watch them practice this Saturday.

"I have been talking with Greg Knox and Coach (David) Turner at Mississippi State and they are saying a lot of good things.

"I like them and I like what they have had to say."

Harris plans to make a decision during the middle of his senior season, so programs looking to make an impression still have time to make a move.

"I know I want to camp at Alabama, LSU and I am going to fly up to TCU and maybe Notre Dame," said Harris. "I am going to try to get to a lot of camps and see a lot of schools."

While the process is already off to a strong start, Harris reports that he feels no pressure to make an early decision.

"I have talking with my dad and my coaches about everything," said Harris. "They are all telling me to take my time without everything and make a decision when I am ready.

"I am going to wait and make my decision some time during the season, so I can go the camps and see some games first."
