Three Crimson Tide players recorded double-digit points, but it was not enough as the Alabama women’s basketball team fell, 67-61, to Florida on Sunday at Foster Auditorium. With the loss, the Tide moves to 12-15 overall and 2-12 in the Southeastern Conference while the win brings the Gators to 16-12 on the season and 5-9 against league opponents.
Alabama
junior Shafontaye Myers led all scorers with 15 points and was followed by senior Meghan Perkins and junior Jasmine Robinson, who added 14 and 11 apiece. Redshirt sophomore Kaneisha Horn and freshman Nikki Hegstetter had six rebounds each while sophomore Daisha Simmons recorded a team-high seven assists. Redshirt sophomore Kayla Lewis registered a double-double for
Florida
, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Next up, Alabama will play its final road game of the season when it heads to Baton Rouge to take on the
LSU
Tigers on Thursday. Tipoff is 7 p.m. CST.
