Cox Controls Samford In 8-1 Bulldog Victory

Coach John Cohen has great faith in his Bulldog bullpen. Even so, coming off a four-game weekend; and with six contests looming, Mississippi State needed to save relief arms some strain. Which is exactly what Will Cox did in Sunday's 8-1 victory over Samford.

The sophomore righthander turned in his best Mississippi State start to-date, working 7.0 complete innings to earn his first win of the season. Cox two-hit a hard-swinging Samford squad, and would have made it through the stint with a shutout save for a single up-in-zone offering in that final frame.
