"It was pretty cool," Artis says. "I got to see the facilities and everything. I talked to some of the players and saw them workout. I talked to the coaches too, trying to build a relationship with them. It was pretty cool."
Saying he enjoyed his first trip to Auburn, Artis says that he really liked the campus and facilities at Auburn and wants to come back for another visit sometime later this spring. As for getting an offer from the Tigers he believes it could be very close.
"They said they're really interested and they want to get me back up in the spring," Artis says. "Hopefully an offer will come then.
"I really believe this staff has a plan in place to win."
Already with offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and a few other schools, Artis is not hurting for attention early in the process. Still just a junior and almost a full year before he has to sign on the dotted line, the safety says for him it's just about enjoying the ride.
"It's nice," Artis says. "I'm just taking it all in. I want to work a little harder so I can keep my status and everything. It's good."
Currently without any real favorites, Artis notes that he doesn't have a timeframe for a decision yet. With that in mind he says the visits will continue as he begins to try to narrow things down in the coming months.
