MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update

The regular season has ended for half of Mississippi's high school football programs. The other half have another week to make their final push into the playoffs. The stretch run finds several Mississippi State commitments in the hunt for district titles and more.

Shelby Christy and Dutchtown have won five in a row as they knocked off McKinley last night 48-25.

The Griffins (8-1) were especially strong on the ground, running for over 300 yards.

Shelby Christy nabbed a 15 yard touchdown pass as DHS kept their district title hopes alive.

Dutchtown will take on Catholic this week in the regular season finale.

Cord Sandberg and Manatee made a huge statement last night as the Hurricanes detroyed Florida's #1 ranked team in 5A, Palmetto, 62-0.

Sandberg only atttempted a handful of passes and rushed for a pair of scores as Manatee pounded Palmetto on the ground.

Manateee (8-0) is ranked #1 nationally in several polls and will look to keep their national title chances on track as they battle Sarasota next week.

Tyre'oune Holmes ran for a pair of scores as Tylertown clinched the district title after a 34-0 win over Columbia.

The Chiefs (9-1) will host a first round playoff this Friday night.

Brandon Wells ran for a a pair of touchdowns as #1 ranked Bogue Chitto shelled St. Aloysius 42-14.

The Bobcats are now 10-0 and have clinched at least a share of the district title. A win on the road over Dexter next week will give Bogue Chitto a perfect regular season and the outright region crown.

Jamaal Clayborn and Jackson Academy came from behind to knock off MRA, 14-13.

The Raiders (10-1) also clinched a first round home playoff game. JA will host Presbyterian Christian and former head coach Joey Hawkins this week.

JA came from behind to beat PCS way back in week one. The rematch should be fierce.

Chris Jones and Houston knocked off Kosciusko 38-10. The Hilltoppers win wraps up the #3 spot in the region for the playoffs.

HHS, now 8-2, will be on the road this week in first round playoff action looking for the program's first ever playoff win.

Scott Austin caught three passes for 60 yards as Biloxi won over Hancock in a cakewalk, 42-0.

Austin and Biloxi (6-3) will take on district champion Gulfport next week as the Indians are still jockeying for playoff position and a first round home playoff game.

South Panola and Deon Mix grinded out a 15-8 win over Grenada to cinch the district title.

The Tigers (8-2) will travel to DeSoto Central this week to close out the regular season before hosting a first round playoff game.

Kailo Moore ran for 161 yards and three touchdowns on just 14 carries Thursday night as West Bolivar knocked off Simmons and Kent Flowers 44-8.

With the win, the Eagles move on to 9-2 and clinch the outright district title.

Despite a slow start to the season, Simmons fought to a 4-6 record and with a 2-3 mark in the district, the Blue Devils look to have wrapped up the #4 spot in the region which would make them elgible for the playoffs.

Jake Thomas and Columbus came close, but were unable to knock off defending 6A state champion Olive Branch.

The Falcons fall to 6-4 and will travel to Grenada next week needing a win to assure a playoff berth.

Gabe Myles threw for three scores and ran for another as Starkville knocked off Callaway 34-16.

The Yellowjackets, now district champs, will host Neshoba Central next week as they prepare to defend their 5A north state title.

Ulric Jones and Trent Simspson saw their record fall to 7-3 after a 34-28 loss to Pell City.

Oxford will travel to Spain Park next week to close out the regular season before learning their playoff destination.

Gadsden City and B.J. Hammond fell to 5-4 after losing 35-32 to Huntsville.

With their season on the brink, the Titans will take on Hewitt-Trussville to close out the regular season slate.
