"Mississippi State, Memphis, Iowa State, La Tech, Tennessee and Ole Miss are showing interest in me," said White. "I have offers from Memphis and Mississippi State."
White has a lot of what coaches are looking for in a big man.
"The coaches see me run the block, see that I can finish around the basket, run through contact, have a positive attitude and have good grades," said. "I post big, shoot around my left shoulder under and over, get the ball where I need to, get my teammates in the right spot, talk on defense, block shots. I try to keep within myself and try not to do things that I can't do."
While he's obviously athletic and moves well, White is working hard on one aspect of this game that he knows will need improving if he wants to be able to handle the physicalness of college ball.
"I'm trying to get a lot stronger in the weight room so I can hold my ground on the low block," said the youngster.
And he's done a good job of that since the beginning of the year.
"At the beginning of this year I was 175 pounds," said White. "Now I'm 195. I want to get to 220 before I leave high school."
Although he's preparing himself for the next level, he really hasn't thought much about what he is looking for in a college. He does have an idea about location, though.
"There aren't too many specific things I'm looking for (in a college)," said White, who is tentative scheduled to unofficially visit Mississippi State on October 13th. "I wouldn't mind going out of state but I prefer to stay within a range my family can come see me."
