Kentucky head coach Joker Phillips talks about the Cats as they prepare for Saturday's game against Mississippi State.

Kentucky coach Joker Phillips had his final day of media availability Thursday leading up to this weekend's SEC clash with Mississippi State.

Phillips said the Wildcats still expect to play both freshman quarterbacks -- Jalen Whitlow and Patrick Towles -- against the No. 19 Bulldogs at Commonwealth Stadium. Whitlow, who came off the bench to play in the last two games after sophomore starter Maxwell Smith sustained injuries, will get the nod for UK's first offensive possession, Phillips said, although he does not consider either player to be the "starter."
