The MSU commitment scoreboard update is a fee weekly feature during football season that allows readers the chance to keep up with the current Mississippi State commitments during their final seasons before joining the team in Starkville.

Will Redmond and Memphis East got off to a solid start with a 41-33 win over Southwind High.

Will did his part by reeling in three passes for 108 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Redmond totaled right tackles and intercepted a pass.

Nelson Adams and Brandon enjoyed a big win over Vicksburg in the Red Carpet Bowl 47-14.

Adams had a nice scoop and score in the second half.

The Bulldogs will take on Pearl High this Friday night in an important match-up for both teams.

Pearl knocked off Devon Bell and Warren Central in their Red Carpet Bowl appearance 41-6.

The Vikings will host Callaway this Friday.

Deonte Evans and McComb traveled to Terry for their season opener and came home with an impressive 34-6 victory.

Deonte reeled off touchdown runs of 13 and 71 yards.

The Tigers play at South Pike this week.

South Pike will look to rebound from a loss at the hands of East Marion and Xavier Grindle in week one.

Despite battling leg cramps most of the night, Grindle put together some nice runs including a 12 yard scamper in the 19-0 win.

East Marion will make the trek across the Pearl River to take on West Marion in the annual rivalry game this Friday night.

Adairius Barnes reeled in a 55 yard touchdown pass that proved to be the difference as Port Gibson beat Hollandale-Simmons 20-12 in an important road game.

Port Gibson will be back on the road this weekend as they travel to Coahoma County.

Gus Walley was his team's leading receiver with five receptions for 63 yards in a 31-8 win over Perry Central.

Walley and Greene County will play at Quitman this weekend.

Frederick Brown made some plays for Jim Hill, but the Chiefs of Tylertown proved to be too much in a 48-18 affair.

Jim Hill will take on Provine this Friday night in an important JPS match-up.

Cole Carter and Caledonia came away with an opening-game win, 29-20, over Nettleton. CHS will take on West Lowndes this week.

Cedric Jiles didn't get a lot of action, but Meridian receiver Shelton Cole best Jiles for one touchdown as Meridian rolled 35-7.

Clinton will look to get on track this week when they take on Ridgeland.

Devon Desper and Madison Central lost to Olive Branch in a game of the week type of event 28-24.

The Jags will travel to Starkville this week in another big 6A tilt.

Nick James and Long Beach will open this week against Hancock.

Ryan Brown and Arch-Bishop Shaw will lift the lid this week at John Ehret after taking part in the Mandeville Jamboree last weekend.

Torrey Bell and New Orleans All Metro #1 John Curtis will take on Franklinton on September 2nd.

Quady Antoine and Belle Chasse will have to wait their turn as well. They battle South Plaquemines in two weeks.

Brandon Holloway and Alonso will take to the field this Friday at Spoto in the season opener for both teams.
