Gene's Page 2011 MSU Football Prediction

Gene's Page predicts the record for the 2011 Mississippi State football team.

Last Season's Record: 9-4

Returning Starters/Letterwinners: 15/41

Key Losses: Left Tackle Derek Sherrod, Center J.C. Brignone and Middle Linebacker Chris White

Key Returnees: Quarterback Chris Relf, Defensive Tackle Fletcher Cox and Running Back Vick Ballard

Best Game: November 12, 2011, At Mississippi State/Opponent Alabama

Projected Finish: 9-4

Outlook: Key returners QB Chris Relf and RB Vick Ballard, along with a solid offensive line, will assure that Mississippi State's offense will be a solid unit once again. The defense, which should continue to be solid, will be led by an outstanding secondary and a tough one-two punch of Fletcher Cox and Josh Boyd at the defensive tackle positions. For MSU to have an outstanding season they will have to successfully replace losses at left tackle, center and two of the three linebacker positions.
